Dexter The Game 2 Reveals Its Dark Passenger To The Play Store For $2.99

I hope you've been paying attention to Harry's teachings for the last six years. You're going to need the code if you hope to avoid getting caught in Dexter the Game 2, which has just been released to the Play Store today. We first heard about this one back in July, before season 7 got underway. Now it's more than half over. Right around the time the story starts to lull before ramping back up to the finale. What better time to unleash your own monster?

The free-roaming environment seems like a neat idea, and from the screenshots it looks like many of your favorite locations have been lovingly recreated. That being said, the graphics look pretty poor, even for a mobile game. Hopefully the gameplay and storytelling aspects make up for this, though, with the ratings it's receiving on the Play Store, that may just be wishful thinking.
Of course, if you've seen season 6 already, you probably already know why a game where you get to pretend to be a serial killer might be a bad idea. Some might even consider it offensive, even as a vicarious thrill.

Sorry, Santa - Google Cancels December In Android 4.2

File this one under How did Google not have a test for this? Got a birthday or anniversary in December? Sorry - Android 4.2 doesn't know what December is. Well, rather the People/Contacts app that comes stock and is part of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) doesn't. Wait... what?
We couldn't believe it either, but it's true. Google forgot to include December. As in, there are 11 months in a year. January after November. Christmas is ruined. Santa is dead. At least we'll save money on buying presents, right?
We verified this on a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 10 running 4.2. Compare the screenshots of the People app in Android 4.2 (left) with Android 4.1 (right) or any other previous version of Android:
wm_Screenshot_2012-11-16-19-59-07wm_Screenshot_2012-11-16-20-08-08
Left: Android 4.2; Right: Android 4.1
The issue was already reported to the Android bug tracker (bug 39692), but has not been acknowledged by the Android team at the time of this writing yet. I'm expecting that to change very shortly.
After digging through the AOSP source, I think the bug can be likely found in one of these commits, probably in the packages/apps/Contacts/src/com/android/contacts/datepicker/DatePicker.java file - if you spot it, definitely drop a note in the comments. I think it has to do with adjusting for indexes that start with 0 - "off by 1" bugs are quite common.
My guess is we won't have to wait for Android 4.2.1 for too long now - leaving a bug like that live would make the North Pole population very-very unhappy. And we don't want that, do we? After all, they're the ones buying a whole lot of Nexuses this holiday season.
Thanks, Joaqun Fernndez Carvajal!

Official ClockworkMod Recovery Now Available For The Nexus 4 And 10, Updated ROM Manager and Superuser, Too

Wow, big day for root things on the Nexus 4 and 10, eh? First off, official ClockworkMod Recovery is now available for the pair, either directly from the CWM site or through ROM Manager, which was also updated today to support Android 4.2. While the latter can handle flashing the updated recovery, Koush himself advised users to flash via fastboot to avoid any potential issues with the process.
Koush also took it upon himself to update the Superuser application for 4.2, just until the original developer can get around to updating the official application in the Play Store. Alternatively, you can also flash SuperSU, which was developed by Chainfire.
To grab each of the above mentioned downloads, hit their respective link below.

Titanium Backup Updated With Android 4.2 Support, Improved Update.zip Features, And More

Several days ago, Titanium Backup received a pretty major update that brought the ability to create flashable update.zip files of your backups. Since the devs behind TB apparently never sleep, they just pushed another update to the app that brings several enhancements to the update.zip functionality, as well as support for Android 4.2:
What's in this version:
Added the ability to batch restore system apps (not just data). See the new "Exclude system APKs" option.
Added support for Android 4.2 (no multi-user support at the moment).
[PRO] Added new "Exclude system APKs" option to the "app+data update.zip" creation job (enabled by default for safety).
[PRO] Improved "app+data update.zip" creation job to support filtering by platform.
Improved root acquisition for "app+data update.zip" restoration.
Minor improvements.
Updated translations.
The update is available now in the Store, though you'll need a pro license to take advantage of most of the new features.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II Drops To $249.99 ($50 Off) On Amazon Wireless

Do you have a hankering for a big phone? Before you answer, know that I'm talking about a massive mobile phone with a stylus here. Well, there's a big phone deal going on if you're willing to hitch your wagon to AT&T for two years. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is on sale for just $249.99.
note
The Note II is selling for $300 or more on other carriers, and AT&T itself is still asking $300 from the unwashed masses. But you know better, right? Just head over to Amazon, and you can get the black or white version of the device and save fifty bucks. The deal appears to be valid for new customers and upgrades.
The Note II rocks a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, a quad-core Exynos ARM chip, 16GB of internal storage, and that sweet stylus. The phone already has Android 4.1 on board, which is better than a lot of devices currently on sale.

[Deal Alert] RadioShack Is Offering A $50 Google Play Credit If You Buy A Galaxy S III Starting Nov. 18th

RadioShack has a holiday promotion starting Sunday that, if you're in the market for a Galaxy S III here in the states, you might be interested in (unless you're on T-Mobile - this one's only Sprint, VZW, and AT&T).
wm_screen1
So, what's the deal? Galaxy S III's at RadioShack are just $99 on a new agreement or upgrade, and if you buy one, you'll get a $50 Google Play credit. Not bad. It gets better - the Shack will give you $10 back for every $50 you spend. So, you're probably better off going in to the store and grabbing a $0.99 item alongside that $99 Galaxy SIII, and that means you'll be able to get a GSIII for just $81, and a $50 Play Store credit to go with it.
But wait - there's more. The Sprint Galaxy S III is just $49 on a new two-year agreement ($99 on upgrades), and you still get the Google Play credit. Not bad at all. This deal will be both online and in stores, starting Sunday, November 18th.

Last Nexus Standing In The US Falls 16GB Nexus 10 Now 'Sold Out' [Update: It's Back]

Update: It looks like the 16GB Nexus 10 is back in stock now. If you were one of the unlucky few who missed the first batch of orders, go ahead and claim yours now.
instock
There's no denying Google's launch of its new Nexus lineup has been a little bumpy. On launch day, we saw near-instantaneous shortages of the Nexus 4 in multiple countries including the US. Shortly after the Nexus 4 sold out in the US, the 32GB Nexus 10 fell. Then the Nexus 7 3G. Just today, we heard reports that many US customers were receiving "backorder" emails, indicating their Nexus 4 order may not ship for up to three weeks. Now, the last Nexus standing has fallen the 16GB Nexus 10 is officially "sold out" in the Play Store.
Untitled-8
In some sense, we could have seen this coming, considering four out of five new products had already sold out entirely. What isn't clear is exactly what this means. Did Google manage to sell an overwhelming amount of Nexi over the past forty-eight hours? Is this an instance of "false scarcity?" Could they be throttling orders due to supply concerns? It's impossible to know right now, and in fact, we have no idea when the devices might be in stock again, so if you're a prospective Nexus owner who missed the (admittedly hurried) boat, all you can do for now is hope. Of course, we'll keep you updated as more details emerge.

Samsung Galaxy Stellar Receiving Minor OTA Update (VRALH2) Soon

If you head on over to Verizon's support page, you can find a changelog for a decidedly minor update to the Samsung Galaxy Stellar (version VRALH2). The update improves backlight brightness coming out of sleep mode, boosts voice quality, and fixes some bugs that may have led to "rare occurrences" of device resets.
